| Senior Member | Italian contract rifle I know what was published about the Italian contract to furnish the Japanese with Carcano's some Forum reports are very favorable accuracy wise as they have been known to out perform the Arisaka type 38's |

| Senior Member | no bolt. just a barreled rec. I have that and a 99 and two 38's. The guy that taught me used to clean his shop out by giving me things. I also have a Chinese Mauser barreled rec.And other assorted stuff. Have you ever noticed bolts seem to disappear. I think they go to the same place socks go.

| Senior Member | Not worth much without the bolt. I have two. One with bolt and one without bolt. Both are close to unissued. Over all finish better than regular Japanese or Carcanos. They are called type I (the letter I) not 1(one). The regular Carcano bolt won't fit. DANA |

| Senior Member | Other then the kind/style used to assassinate JFK, I don't think they're all that desirable. I could be wrong though? I've been told they really aren't that accurate. A local dealer has one for sale. I just happened to be there when he took it in on a trade. Just needed a going over and a magazine, which he found. Not sure what he's asking for it, I believe like $250.00 or there abouts? But if it's missing the bolt, I'm thinking not much at all as it can't work without it. DOH!

| Senior Member | Damn your smart GM I know that people have never even bought a reciever by itself in the entire history of the world. Duh indeed. It is several parts not a whole rifle. I guess parts are free in FISHville.

| Senior Member | My apologies to you and your state. I shouldn't get near the computer when I've had a bad day. Just had bad flashback there for a minute. Sometimes this Scot-Irish-German-Native American temper gets the best of me.

| Senior Member | Jap/Carcano type I I guess just keep an eye out for TypeI parts you never know mabe a bolt will surface. I had several rifles given to me over time, most all needing bolts or barrels In NW Alaska the rifles are used as tools and due to the conditions here they get thrashed pretty good, I whad a couple Winchester 88's one in 308 & 243, both had real bad problems not worth putting $ into, a savage 340 in 222Rem that was missing a bolt, several Remingtons and winchesters also missing bolts and showing up at my door step I guess that's why I store my bolts in my weapons and keep them locked in a steel lock box. |

| Senior Member | Numrich's stripped Type I bolts in stock! I was looking thru the Numrich site contemplating parts to tighten up a Carcano and saw they had Carcano/Jap type I parts and they are out of complete bolt assy's but have on hand stripped bolt assy's the rest of the parts one could fabricate over time or scrounge up some place. |
