deer skin hats?

Have any of you ever used deer skin to make a hat?Ive got a fallow skin being tanned and want to use it for something other than a rug.Thought about seat covers but my mate said it wouldnt be any good because the deer hair is hollow. What about a set of gators?

I don't see why it wouldn't work for a hat. And if it's a thick, mature hide, it'd be great for anti-snakebite gators. I've thought keeping a thick hide to make a saddle scabbard for one of my hunting rifles. Think that'd be kinda unique!

Hey, my forebears used 'em for all kinds of great stuff. Shelter, clothes, saddles, braided rope, etc. We oughta be able to come up with one or two new uses!

You could always use it for a gun sock. Leave the hair on for padding?

Or you could make a new pair of underoo's. Then you could take a pic and send it to PETA (sorry, just got done reading that thread!!).

But seriously, I quiver would be cool!
