Carbine Blank adapter

Howdy,

Anyone know of a way to fire blanks in the carbine? Do they make a blank adapter for it? If so, where are they available?

There is a adapter but you would need to thread the inside of the barrel ruining it for other than firing blanks

There is also another type that slips over the muzzle and turns to lock on the front sight. But I don't recommend either as both can "damage" a carbine. If you are going to use it for reenactment, you want the inside the barrel type. But remember it ruins the barrel for shooting.
Orlando....are you going to OGCA?

You can shoot it single shot but the gas required to activate the gas piston will go right out the muzzle without providing enough needed to activate the gas system. BFA's are designed to provide enough gas to the system to operate the rifle in semi-auto mode.

Write to Clint at Fulton Armory; perhaps he can give you a lead.
E-Mail Query@fulton-armory.com

jkrzos, Try Sarco at sarcoinc.com for the Carbine BFA. They advertise them for about $10.

Carbine blanks and a blank adapter were type certified/adopted in 1945, but with the war ending none were ever produced.
The only one available that I know of is the West German that locks around the front sight. Sarco and others occasionaly have these. IF new & complete there is a gas shield that goes over the bolt which is a part of the set. More often you just find the BFA.

Blanks are a major problem as the only ones available are those made for reenactors at a cost of 35¢ a round + shipping.

jimb2 - How can a BFA damage a carbine??? Also threading the bore in NO way effects shooting live ammo unless you screw up and leave the BFA in.
I have shot ALL types of blank adapted weapons for over 28 yrs without any problems unless I screwed up and left the BFA attached when firing live ammo or had a faulty BFA.

There is a blank adapter that threads on but you must tap threads to the inside of the barrel. Thats what affects accuracy for shooting live rounds and ruins collectability.

Orlando hit the point on the insert type. As far as the lock on BFA goes, it damages the finish on the barrel (wear) and again lowers the collector value.
