| Member | Newbie, possibly ignorant scope base question What is the function of a "MOA" base as opposed to a cheap 1 piece base.? The cost is considerably different so I assume there is reasons that are not readily apparent. Help is greatly appreciated. c. Okay, I think I found the answer to my own question..according to an article on snipercountry website, a tapered "moa" scope gives you more adjustment for longr ange shooting than your scope alone provides..so, if you do not shoot over 1000 yards it is probably not necessary..unless you have a scope with very little adjustment internally.. | Senior Member ![]() | I have had two lever guns that were impossible to site the scope low enough to get within 10 inches of the black ring so I mounted sdjustible bases and it was everythingI hoped for. well worth the cost. |
