PPK/S carry question

I've a new PPK/S (imported by Smith and Wesson, and bought new late last year). I've read somewhere that the PPK isn't safe to carry with the safety off. The safety does provide a positive hammer block in the PPK. However, with the safety off, there is also a mechanical hammer block on this particular pistol which prevents the hammer from striking the firing pin unless the trigger is fully depressed.

Anyone know why someone might consider this pistol (DA auto) dangerous to carry with safety off, or was it just the older models of the PPK lacked a hammer block ?

I used the PPK/S in 9X17mm for years, I also had a couple in 7.65mm and always carried them with a round in the chamber, decocked, safety off. They all have the hammer block.

Thanks, that's what I thought--this is a .380--think the safety thing is only on the older models.
