| Senior Member ![]() | DPMS .308 "Key Holing" Shot my DPMS .308 carbine for the first time a couple of weeks ago (doing the barrel break in procedure as recommended) and noticed when I checked the target (200 yards) that the bullets were key holing. Ammo was Magtech 150 gr. FMJ Are the .308 rifles finicky with ammo ? Any other suggestions ? |

| Senior Member | What was the drop . . . . . . at 200 yards from, let's say, being sighted in at 100 yards? You may have had some underpowered ammo? Also, what bullet design did you have? I feel a little more info is needed as a .308 should not keyhole at 200 yards. |

| Senior Member | It could also be the type of paper used for the target. Try some other targets before worrying too much.
