Those real commie shooters ate Borscht, Black Bread (Baked on the end of their bayonet of course :-D), and sausage (also cooked on the end of the bayonet). :-D. All washed down with a nice mug of Vodka and Tea haha.

do you all mind if i ask a question regarding mosin nagants? or should i start a new thread seeing as how this one turned to turtles and cheesecake and russian delicacies? any way after reading the first part of this thread (ya know...the part about the mosin nagant rifles) i decided that i want a mosin nagant. but should i go for the 91/30, the m38, or the m44? whats the difference in them?

91/30s are long rifles. Accurate and fun to shoot. M38s are carbines with no bayonet. Make great hunting rifles especially in close quarters. Loud, great muzzle flash. The M44s are M38s with an attached folding spike bayonet. Same great rifle.

I love them all, but if I were to buy a first rifle I would go with a 91/30. Softer recoil, and balances better in my hands. Plus, I shoot mainly on the range so the longer rifle is not a problem. People on here have published range reports where they were accurate with the long rifle out to 400+ yards!

But, bear in mind that one Mosin is never enough. You will want an M44 and M38 then of course, a Finish M39. The fin rifles are more accurate and have better sights.

Matt,
If you're going to ask any of these questions on the Mosin, just wander into the Military Weapon forums, and then into the Mosin forum.. There's a reason there's a speed link on top of this page, and that's because it's an extremely popular topic..

Wander through all the Mosin questions for answers that you didn't even think to ask. Also, check out 7.62x54r.net for TONS of info, too.
