| Super Moderator ![]() | if you find any tell us Tracers can fry a barrel -- I saw a guy at my local range go throught a 100rd Beta C Mag in an M4 full auto and he ruined the barrel because all 100 rounds were tracers.

| If they have been loaded correctly they will cause no harm to a Barrel. The problem comes when someone that doesn't know which powder to use, uses a too hot powder and the trace checmical ignites while it is still in the barrel. Now on that note, a few here and there still won't hurt anything, or at least not to a noticeable level. When loaded correctly the tracer never ignites until it is apx 50-75 yds away from the muzzle.

| Mmmmmm, tracers........ http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...linghomer1.jpg Me and the grandson went to a machinegun shoot a couple of weekends ago, thousands of tracers flying through the evening sky, what a sight! The .50's were the best, with the minigun a close second. Never heard of .22 tracers though, but I bought some 12 gauge tracers many years ago for trap shooting. WTH...why can't I put IMG links from photobucket in here anymore?

| They make them but rather expensive. Dont know about 22 tracers but large bore tracers will not hurt a barrel its a myth. The tracers are not ignited until they have left the barrel |

| Another source: .22 Rimfire and Specialty Ammunition I haven't tried them yet. Keep in mind that it's possible to start fires downrange with these. I remember starting grassfires at basic training.... |
