Thanks TF, was wondering when SOMEONE would state the obvious!

They are mean buggers alright. They have a temper worse than any buffalo. They are easier to kill than buffalo, but i have seen bigger scrubers than i have seen buffalo. I would shoot a scrubber with a Three O.
But like i said earlier, if i was out and only had a Three O and stumbled on a buff, i dont think i could help myself, i would take the shot. BUT i would be very very nervous about it. But if i were out specifically looking for Buff i wouldnt grab a .303

Nice pictures. No need to insult Monte, he was just going along with the joke instead of freaking out like everybody else, seemed pretty obvious to me. Very serious bunch on this thread.

Well 9 times out of 10 comments like that around here are serious. Alot of armchair hunters with bucketloads more experience than those who have been there and done it, and no matter what you tell them, they know best.

If the little winking smiley face didn't tip you off ,comparing a Water Buff to a Holstein surely should have.

The very meanest animal I ever got attacked by was a red rooster when I was about 3yrs old.I fought him off with an empty 2gal. oil can. I still have scars and a great respect for mean animals. sam.

I emagine holsteins and domestic cattle have killed and injured more people than all of the wild buffalo. sam.

Never a shortage of armchair hunters on here, always ready to throw out the "what ifs" and never failing to pull out their handy dandy ballistics chart.

Well, I had a hard time finding [didn't find] the .700 H & H. What I did find was that the .700 Nitro Express was developed in 1988 and was manufactured by the H & H company. I know that Mr. Mark Sullivan talked about his double as being a .700 NE and just figured he knew what he had being that is his "job"

Shoulder-fired rifle calibers comparable to the .700 Nitro Express in terms of power and recoil include the following:

.600 Nitro Express
.585 Nyati
.577 Tyrannosaur
.475 A&M Magnum
.460 Weatherby Magnum
.50 BMG

I have friends that have gone to Africa for hunting trips and the top cal. for them was the .375 H & H. I just know I don't fit in that breed, I will not be "lucky" enough to hunt Africa. oh well....

Not to worry Irish. I won't be back, little too thick on this thread. I don't appreciate your gutless insult and comment on my home page. We're done here.

I promised myself I'd stay out of this thread that has now turned into a sh1tfight...
...But I have to say I'd rather be a subject of the crown than have a president who could probably qualify for the mental disability pension...
Don't like insulting on the basis of nationality but if you're sending it this way I'll send it back.
Hopefully a mod shuts this thread down soon.
