| I myself own own a Hi-Point JCP .40 pistol, bought brand new for $200 with lifetime warranty. Fast forward 'bout 2 years and 10,000 rounds later it still shoots like a champ. You'll need to take extra care in cleaning due to the lower grade metals. Mine broke in at about 400 rounds and I've not had a jam since. At 20 meters I shoot better with the $200 Hi-Point than the $800 SIG that I carry (Hi-Point does not come to mind when I think concealment). At night while my SIG sits in the dresser waiting for the next day, the Hi-Point's under my pillow waiting for an intruder. As "different" as they are in cosmetics and handling, for home defense on a budget, they certainly have my endorsement. After shooting mine, my brother sold his Glock to buy one. But hey, to each his own right. Bad gun-wise, gramma gave me a .32 break action revolver (brand name scaped off). the extractor was too short for the casings and would lock them down on the cylinder if actually tried to use it. |

| Troll B' Gone ![]() ![]() | Ok, I will fess up, the biggest POS I ever owned was a Heritage Rough Rider in .22 LR, terrible gun, the cylinder got stuck, the finish was terrible, and to top it all off, the gun didn't even shoot that great. I traded it in on a Ruger Single Six, and was much happier.

| I've been very cautious in my firearm purchases, and, to date, haven't purchased a piece of junk yet... ...and, after reading some of these posts, I know what to be even more cautious of buying.

| I've got a HighPoint 9mm carbine. Bought it to be a wise ass and challenged the Departments SERT team in a 3 gun match. (Back when I could walk and run) beat all five, shot the carbine against H&K UMP's, I used an old kinda junkie Mouseberg 500 riot gun against Benelli semi-auto police guns. Pistol was Glock 22s, I sort of cheated had a 3.5 lb trigger and I tuned the action ( my gun ). My HP carbine has always been reliable, never had a stoppage with it and 5 magazines. It may be a pc of junk and it is, the stock ( I'm told they have a better stock for it) can be twisted 90 degrees and bent at the pistol grip abt 30 degrees. For going out and wasting ammo plinking it's a great gun.

| I have an old 16 gage shotgun that was given to me years ago and it just keeps hanging around. I always say I'm going to give it to my buddy for his son but just can't do it. I blame it on the idea that it is rude to give away a gift. |
