The best cold blue that I have ever run across is Super 44. You can get it at brownells. As for protecting the metal in "white" a good automotive chrome polish works well. You will have to use about the same maintenance as with a blued part. |

Are you talking about muric acid or the parts cleaner and gasoline? The parts cleaner and gasoline won't dilute with water. Just confused.

If your going to use muriatic acid the I suggest doing it out doors with a fan behind you. Dont forget the respirator,and heavy chemical gloves listen to JAC. Be careful.

Ordinary toilet bowl cleanser will remove bluing and doesn't etch the metal like Naval Jelly or muratic acid. You can also use Liquid Wrench. Nickel, chrome, black chrome, etc. plating kits can be purchased from Caswell Plating.
