back on topic it is widely acknowledged that the Sosa-McGwire HR races generated massive interest in the MLB, so the argument that the MLB would not exist today without them could be made. I'm not making that argument to that extreme, I'm just saying it could be made, what I will say is that the league, and every team in the league profited greatly from the Sosa-McGwire HR races, and I really hope no one on here believes they didn't both take steroids, so the MLB owes it to the steroid industry, after all the money they made off of steroids, and are continuing to make off steroids, to not have rules against steroids. high schools should have rules against them, and maybe colleges, but when you're a professional athlete you're a big kid and should be allowed to decide what you do or don't put in your body in cases like steroids where it doesn't affect anyone else negatively

cub- That doesn't change the fact that many teams haven't made the play offs in over a decade. The Yankees always make the play offs, period. You don't see that trend as much in football or basketball. Sure some teams have legacies, but not like one that NYY have. |

What I hate is every good player we get, we can't keep because we can't afford them. Let me name a few Damon Beltran Dye All Royals players and none of them we could afford to keep. Got their experience in our stadium on our team's roster and now they have left because other teams can afford to give them 20+ million dollar contracts. yeah, that is totally fair. Disappointment? How do you think it felt being a Braves fan in the nineties. How many times can you loose the series in one decade?

yeah the gold old days, bo jackson, g brett, and I was a kid and thought it was awesome... Then the strike....lost interest Now post mid 20s, getting back into it. They just put a new 100 foot High Def screen at Kaufman, that thing is seriously bad ass. The first time I saw it, I was so confused because there was just too much info on the screen at once.

anyone see the yankees mets game the other day.....it showed the left field foul pole in yankee stadium is in fair ground almost a foot away from the actual foul line, (no wonder there building a new stadium) it did save us 2 runs but didnt matter the mets won tlarkin- i guess your right about the dissapiontment the red sux just no-hitted the royals
