Walther P-1

Picked one up this morning on a whim, and I really like this handgun. It's in excellent shape and I cannot wait to shoot it next week.
Anyone else have one? Any problems? Any gripes?

I bought one right before Christmas, haven't been out to shoot it but once. I've always wanted P38 & this was a cheap alternative. Had no malfunctions, it shot about 8" low. Gonna try some different ammo before I mess with the front sight. You know they throw the brass out to the left. Let me know how yours shoots.

Mine throws the brass straight up, and it really tosses them. They bounce off the ceiling indoors. Excellent shooter.

The P-38, in my opinion, is one of the ten greatest pistols of all time. It was considered the first safe combat pistol due to the decocker. The ergonomic grip feels better to me than a Luger. The magazine release system was innovative. It inspired the Ruger Mk1. Mine has proven very accurate. The only issue is the wartime metal finish is not the best.
