.222 or .223

Thinking about getting a medium range varmit rifle. Do not want a real heavy one. Somewhere in the 7 1/2- 8 lbs. range. Must be a bolt action. Would like to get some feed back from any of you who have some ideas. I currently have a heavy barrel .308. Have not had any expereince with the .222. Only had a few Mini-14s. Thanks for replys.

222 and 223 are very similar in performance, i think the 223 may have a bit longer neck which makes for easier reloading, ther is more brass and such on market for 223. you may have 223 stuff for loading now?
