| Senior Member | I don't, since I traded away my PA-63 a few weeks ago. I used to shoot 95gr Berry's Mfg. PRN bullets with W231, S&B cases mostly. I can look up my load data if you reload. The best 9x18 factory ammunition is the Barnaul 95gr JHP. It is very accurate and fairly high in velocity. Typically, it sells for $95-$100 per case. It is every bit as accurate as the expensive Hornady ammo. For a few bucks more per case, the Sellier & Bellot 95gr FMJ is almost as accurate as Barnaul. However, it is brass-cased/Boxer primed, so you can reload the cases. Wolf, Silver Bear, and Brown Bear are dirty, inconsistent, and inaccurate. I have never shot the Silver Bear myself, because it was too hot for the PA-63. Based on the experiences of others and the performace of Brown Bear, I say give Silver a pass. There are some other brands of Eastern European 9x18 out there such as the Mesko from Poland, but I know nothing about their performance.

| Senior Member | I have to disagree with FEG on the Silverbear. It is a bit dirty, but no dirtier than Federal's American Eagle ammunition. It has good accuracy in my IJ-70. I do agree on the Barnaul 95g. I use it on the range, and carry the Hornady XTP's.

| Senior Member | I shoot reloads mostly. The loads I shoot are hot-about 1100 fps. Haven't had any trouble with them at all. I just replace the recoil springs with Wolff +Power springs and they work fine. As far as factory fodder, I either shoot Hornady or S&B. I also have over 2 cases of the surplus Russian ammo that ws shipped in a few years ago that works really well.

| Member | Folks- Thanks for your replies. It was interesting to hear the endorsements for the Barnaul. Right now I'm carrying Hndy XTPs 'cause of their reputation for reliability and lethality. If the Barnauls are just as good than maybe I'll switch, the XTPs are expensive and I'd like to practice with the round I carry. Regards, Shane |
