works well on wood chucks out to 150 yards so far I only lost one back down the hole. squirles and crows are toasted with no problems and I have even gotten one coyote with it.(head shot at 75 yards) while calling in crows. Its like a cross between a 22mag and a 222 with a one of a kind report. not a bag more of a whhhhhhiiiizzzzz sound. all and all I'm inpressed.

| i finally got mine
I finally got mine a nef 17 HMR. got it zeroed and have been shooting p'dogs. had a couple of hits out to 175 but it's best work is at about 125 and under.I still haven't put it on sandbags and shot for accuracy but I would think the way i've been hitting p'dogs it should very good. The finish isn't the greatest but the price is. Besides I can use the extra money to buy ammo!! reride |

I've shot my Anschutz 1717D extensively against ground squirrels, and it is accurate and effective. Try one, you'll like it.
