Cub Scout 1965-68. Boy Scouts 1968-1970, never got past 2nd class. I just couldn't master the morse code or semiphore for 1st class rank, got frustrated and quit.

However, as an adult I was a Cub Scout leader from 1990 to 2001. Jobs held (no real order). Advancement chairman (2 years), Assistant den leader (2 years), den leader (2 years), assistant webelos den leader (2 years), webelos den leader (2years), assistant cub master (2 years), cub master (4 years), Tiger cub leader (3 years). Lots of over lap and multiple jobs. I was also on the District Cub Leader training committee and the Cub Round Table staff.

I've been a Boy Scout leader, Assistant Scout Master, since 1995. I teach about dozen different merit badges. Our district split in two this summer and I am now on the District Committee.

I spent one year as a professional Scout in West Virginia.

My oldest son is an Eagle Scout, class of 2002. My younger son will be a Life Scout this fall.

Yes, I am "into" Scouting.

My daughters are in Girl Scouts. I tried to join as a leader for them as well and was flat out told that men were not welcome.

I really enjoy working with the kids, it's fun to watch them grow and mature.

I'm still active on many planning committees and fund raisers for all Scouting Programs. My wife has been a Guider for many years and is still very at all levels of Guiding - local/Provincial/and National.

Couldn't find a good troop. Started as a Tiger Cub, quit after 2nd class in favor of the Church. Tried 3 troops. None much good.

L Frame, I see this was your first post. Welcome to the forum. No body here bites, and we have lots of discussions here. A few are actually about guns.

Scout as a boy in the seventies.
Adult leader positions currently held, Scoutmaster, Venturer Crew Adviser, Unit commissioner and District Committee.

My son is a Life Scout working on his Eagle project. He intends
to add a 300 meter range at our county run range.

My daughter is working on her ranger and silver awards in our Venturer Crew.

Venturing is a co-ed program for youth 14 years old till they turn 21.

Cub Scouts 1981 - kept getting into fights with the den mother's son. That ended my short but illistrious career in the Boy Scouts. I took second in our den at the derby race, out of 8 members. Yeah I was a legend.
