Hakim with factory loads

Today was the first time I used the Winchester 170gr Power Points in the Hakim. I've always used handloads or that Turkish Milsurp which the Hakim hates.
With the gas valve turned way down I might be able to reload about 50% of them because they arent too beat up. That darn Hakim has eaten every single 8mm case I had! That gets to be pretty darn expensive shooting if I cant reload.
I polished the chamber because of empties wanting to stick but that was only with the milsurp stuff. I had no failures of any kind today with the factory stuff but....$18.95 a box

I really like feeling the instant gust of wind from the muzzle brake on that thing!

Man, the Hakim is the big nasty of semi-auto battle rifles! I have found them to be super accurate, around 1-1 1/2 MOA with good ammo. The gas system on most Hakims take some getting used to and require some experience through trial and error to achieve satisfactory results. I personally would avoid the milsurp corrosive stuff since it can get corrosive salts in the gas system.

The Hakim is a joy to shoot. A real fire breather with the noise of a cannon to boot!

Snakebite, slit a piece of the appropriate sized rubber hose and secure it to the brass deflector bar with zip-ties, this will save appox 75% of the fired brass. also stock up of reloadable brass, out here in SD it can be sort of hard to find.
