Bipod stud, Help?

My father in law has a T/C Encore that is using a 270 rifle barrel. He bought a harris bipod to mount to the forestock stud, but after he installed it, it was loose and while feeling the play in the stud it came out of the wood. So my question is there a better way to secure that stud in the wood(either make it or buy it)
Thanks Anthony

Try posting at the following link. The folks there use bipods quite often on T/Cs.
