A hearty salute to Stock Doc!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a refresher for those who might have forgotten (and us ol' ferts tend to forget more quickly than others) I cracked the stock on my #1 Springfield Remington 1903A3.

I sent the stock off to Stock Doc and the results were/ARE just amazing.

Like I told him I really thought there wasn't much that coulda been done to salvage 'her'.

But, when I slowly, slowly opened the box I almost gasmed!!!!!!

It's beautiful and I defy anyone NOT knowing where the crack was to even find it.

I want to publically acknowledge the fine, fine job Stock Doc did for me and I would whole heartedly recommend sending stock problems to him!!!!!!....Yepper....fer sure.

I can't wait to get her back on the 'lady'. MMMMM!

I'll attach to this post the pic I originally posted of the cracked stock and then follow it up with a pic of the stock Stock Doc brought back to life!

I think you'll agree Stock Doc is a wizard and I bow to his greatness.

I have one request...........please......PLEASE......don't let this thread die quickly.

I think everyone needs to know the outstanding quality of work Stock Doc does.

The other thing I didn't mention is that it also amazed me that the repair was done in such a way to not interfere with the present stain or color of the stock.

Now if I tried something like that....well, I'd hate to think of the outcome, lol.

Stock Doc did an excellent job with professional workmanship quality! What a lucky break for you Dale to have found someone of that high caliber of skills.

That said, if my 03A3 ever needs work, now I know who to contact. Seriously, in the picture, I could not detect even the slightest hint of where the crack occured. It appeared that the wood grain work matched perfectly. Surely another piece of wood wasn't matched up with the defect? And with all the gun oil soaked into the wood, I'm amazed that Stock Doc was able to make the repairs. With woodworking as one of my hobbies, I still believe that this repair job should be taken to a professional like Stock Doc.

Dale, thanks for showing us his work.
