Fnp-9?

I noticed this in CDNN, then found the FN USA website. Anyone know anything about this pistol? Is it designed like the Hi-Power? Seems to be a response to the growing trend of polymer frames and accessory rails.

I'm not sure it is a Hi-Power. That's what I was trying to figure out. The FN-49 certainly isn't a Hi Power.

yes it is, using full power manly rifle cartridges. only thing that killed the FN-49 was the post war market.

This is what I meant by the FN-49. I don't know why they'll give two guns the same name.

Still no knowledge of the FNP-9's relation to the Hi-Power or no?

Actually, I just looked at both successively and the FNP-9 looks like a variant of the FN-49, but with an external hammer and manual safety (unless it's just a decocker, which would be a bummer to me.)
