Question selector switch for model 24

hi i was oiling guns today and i notinced that one was missing a part. a savage model 24 over/under .22 rifle/.410 shotgun. is missing the selector switch to select which fires the .22 or the .410. does anyone know where i can get the part or how it can be fixed. if i can't find the actual part im thinking of asking BattleRifleG3 if he can make somthing for it. but i'm not sure how the selctor works if its simple or complicated so i'm not sure if he could make somthin for it or not. but i'd rather have the actual part for it.

THE CATALOG LISTS THREE VERSIONS OF THE SLIDE TYPE ON THE RECIEVER. THEN THEY LIST A REPLACEMENT HAMMER ASSEMBLY, FIRING PIN, AND SCREW TO UPDATE TO THE CURRENT METHOD. KIT #S24E-1007 @ $31.15.NOT THE LATEST CATALOG BUT THE ONLINE CATALOG HAS THE THREE REPLACEMENT PARTS. JUST CHECK THE ONLINE PRINTS. I HAVE BOTH TYPES AND THE LATER HAMMER TYPE WORKS FINE.

Thanks DANA i checked out that website and theres a buch of variations of the 24. i dont know what one it is. how can i figure that out. all it has for model # is "model 24" on the side of the reciever. its a 22 long rifle on top and .410 shotgun 3" chamber on bottom. break open lever behind the hammer. the missing selector goes on the side witht the model 24 the right side if you holding the gun ready to shoot. on the left side of the reciever has " Savage savage arms corperation Chicopee falls. Mass U.S.A." barrel marked near chamber on top (rifle par) right ".22 long rifle" on bottom(shotgun part) left "proof tested .410 bore 3 inch chamber". it has rifle sites

HARD TO TELL WITHOUT SEEING THE GUN. YOU MAY BE BEST TO CHANGE TO THE HAMMER TYPE. THAT IS THE WAY THEY DO IT NOW.

If your selector button uses a screw to hold it to the selector then P24-741 is the part number, if your selector button has no screw then P24A-741 is the one to use

The selector on the hammer is available from numrich and brownells? But you may have to buy the entire hammer/selector assembly. If you are talking about the old 22/410 types (there are 2) they are merely buttons on the right side, one threaded and one not? These are Not available?
I do happen to have some of these parts hoarded up, though. Most time I order the 50-75 dollar kit from Numrich! Last I knew I had at least one of each type saved. They are for sale, of course.

Does your gun have a plastic stock, or a wood one?
