| Mr. Fixit ![]() | I think it will sunset, but not without a lot of B/S from all of the liberals. I really don't see it making it all the way to the house, but I was suprised when it was enacted to begin with. I plan on fighting it tooth and nail.

| i think it may slide by in the senate due to the close margin, but i think the republican house will blow it away. i also think bush is banking on that. i don't think he really wants to sign it and he is hedging his bet that the house will shut in down and he'll never be put in that position to have to do it.

| I suspect the Dems will try and set something in stone by going quietly in the back door with legislature in the form of a rider, etc.. If that doesn't work they'll be back later. They ain't gonna rest until they see our demise done...you can bet on that. If you follow the stats you can clearly see they gain momentum every year....scary...sad....but true. Our biggest foe is the news media. The more bad publicity about bad gun users the more strength they're gonna gain.

| Administrator ![]() | I talked to Wayne LaPierre in May at a booksigning. He said that they have the votes in the House and possibly the Senate to kill any re-newal effort. Remember, the Dems would need to get 60 votes to kill a filibuster in the Senate. In the House, Tom Delay is majority leader, he can keep a vote from coming to the floor. Personally, I think it will be bottled up in committees in both houses. The NRA's top priorities are liability protection for firearms manufacturers and the AW Ban Sunset. If Pres. Bush wins in '04, we will have 4 years of firearm freedom not seen since the early to mid '80's. If a Democrat wins the White House and they take Congress in '04 or '08, you are looking at Brady 2 and Registration like Canada. http://www.awbansunset.com/
