| Latest Custom SAR Heres my latest custom job. An SAR-2 for a fellow boardmember at AK-47.net. I installed a 22mm adapter from Jayson at I.G.F., a US made 22mm brake and a TAPCO G-2 trigger. Metal refinished in matte black Molyresin, furnature stained with a combination of watercolors and gel stains, plus I used amber shellaq that I tinted with orange watercolor, and finally Tung Oiled. ![]()

| Super Moderator ![]() | Wood matches the mag perfectly. Is that the original buttstock with the lightening cut designed for a soldier to tell the difference between an AKM and AK-74?

| The upper handguard and the buttstock are Bulgarian. Not sure what caliber weapon it was removed from. I like these stock sets because I think the shape and cut is far superior to the Romanian. Plus I like the ribbed butt plate and the lighning cuts. The lower guard is Romanian and the reason for that is it was the prototype for the dye job and no matter what I did, I could not get the Bulgarian lower to look right so I decided to stop fighting with it and go with the prototype. The customer wanted a stain that looked like an iodine dye. I'm going to take better pics today, the upper guard is laminate and with the shellaq, it shimmers in the light.
