What is a good price? Where can I get one? Will they take my sole in trade? How good are they? Over an AR10?

a true dragnov is very costly -- my guess is that you are looking at the RPK version and if you shop around 1K to 1.5K

We used to be able to argue that dealers were misleading in labelling them Dragunovs. But now the importers are naming them Dragunovs too. These are fine rifles but THEY ARE NOT DRAGUNOVS! They are based on the RPK, a heavier version of the AK used as a light machine gun. They are chambered for the same round but magazines are not interchangeable. They have been found to be competitively accurate with the real Dragonovs, but they are NOT real Dragunovs. For the money, though, I think they're a better deal. I have seen them for under $600 WITHOUT scope, most come with a scope that is worth over a hundred dollars and are priced accordingly. Your results may vary based on dealer sales volume and their overhead costs, so I would say under $800 is a decent enough deal on a new one with the basic kit. Mags are not cheap so if you want extra mags you may find competitively priced package deals.

I suggest getting a real Russian Dragunov, or the Tiger Carbine Dragunov as the Romanian's are Not true Dragunovs. I am very impressed with my Tiger as far as accuracy, functioning, and ease of using the Original Rangefinder scope.Drawbacks are- 1...The rubber eyepiece can't be used with glasses and it Blows my contact lens out at recoil ! 2...The 10 round Magazines are 39.95 Plus shipping , which is out of line Pricewise, but never see em Cheaper! Other than that it is a Superb Rifle!

The Dragunov is like an AK on Steroids ! If you are gonna buy one and Keep it, why not buy the best ???? Cheap guns usually stay cheap, but Quality and Desireability Increase in Value, and Its a heck of a lot more stable than the Stock market, besides, ....WITH a gun...I can Get Money ! LOL

The Romanian Romak-3/FPK/PSL is an AK on steroids. The Dragunov is a whole different animal with a few similarities. Both fine rifles for what they are, but for practical use I'd go with the Romak.

A rifle like that will go up in value and always be worth what you at the very least paid for it. THey are extremely desirable. Atlanticfirearms has the best deals on them, but they are currently sold out. I WANT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And then there's the "Real" Romanian FPK "Dragonov." These are so rare that most people don't know they exist outside a few museums. Allmost no one has heard of anything but the recent imports made for the US market. Was going to post a photo of my new condition 1979 military Rumanian with all the accerssories, but don't know how to do the link bit??? Can anyone help with this????? Sarge |
