Thank you guys for helping me clear up all that stuff. I now know that my MAK-90 takes mags that will work for either 556 or 223, but I shoot 223 out of my rifle. Is the MAK-90 chambered in 223 a good choice? I preffer the 233 round personlly but getting the magazines is a challenge. Would you guys just get a WASR 10 instead?? Pred, yes. I am opening a strore and that is how I got the FFL. Also, do I get rid of the thumbhole stock or is that a decent one?

The .223 is a good round. The advantage of being able to fire both the NATO round and the commercial round is, of course, your able to fire both. If it were me, I would have got an AK in a standard round, mainly because I have an AR. And as SHTF rifle, I would think a .223 AK could cause a problem finding mags and replacement parts when compared to the standard AK. Please remember though, I'm in no way trying to put down you or your gun. And, you have an AK, I dont |

You mean cost plus 10% and shipping, so sure. I thought I may run into a problem with the .223 round. I know the advantage to having an AK is that they are universal and I have the only odd ball out of the bunch, but I like it. Sure mags may hard to find, but once I get all the mags I need, then I am set. I still have time to switch back to the standard WASR 10.

Your 100% correct. Once you get a supply of mags built up, your good to go. Don't switch, just get both |

It's not my fault I ride the short bus. Congrats on starting your own shop, I'd love to do something like that. So how hard is/was it to do this? Have you been working for this for a while now? What made you do this?

I am going in on it with a buddy and my dad. The other person is very knowledgable so it makes up for what I don't know, like on thise MAK-90 deal. I did it as a side job to make some extra money on the side. It is kind of like a hobby gone too far and I am too far in to turn back. I will have my other full time job and I do this on the side to make so cash and have fun. The business will start out as part-time and turn into a full-time gig. I have to invset a lot in security which I don't have, the building has to have a lot of work done, and I need a name. I have two investors who are each putting in 10 grand so that helps, but I am a long ways a way yet.

I was thinking about "Last resort guns," "The Final Option" "Mil-Surp Mania" or "Sanoran Arms":uzi: One thing I ran into is that insurance is almost half if you call it a sporting goods store so I will have a few bolling pins that I can sell for target practice and I am good to go. I found out something interesting, I can modify these mags to fit 31 .223 rounds and work very well.http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/magak7430rd.gif I just don't know what or how I need to modify to make it work. DO you know?

No, I don't. But my advice would be, if the mags work well, I wouldn't take the chance of messing them up for one more round. Would suck if that one more round caused your gun to jam when you needed it. But, if you have a few mags to play around with, my all means more is better.

Well, the magazine pictured is for the 5.56 X something and there is a way to make it work for the .223 with a little modification. THe mags made specific for the .223 are like 30 dollars and up, but those 5.56 mags are only 12 dollars. If I can get them to work for the .223 I'll be in major business.

Cool. About the mags, you might want to ask BRG3 about this, because atleast with AR's, the same mags work with either round. I'm not for sure about the AK's though. I don't see how one mag works for one but not the other.

All I know is that you can get the cheap mags that are for the AK74 to work with some minor mods. How is the question, but hey sometime I'll figure it out. Also, what is a good price for .223? I just bought 6 boxes at 5.50 ea. 20 rds. They call sell me 25 boxes or more and they will give me 10 percent off, is that a deal?
