Well crap...

So as soon as I got home after work I ran upstairs, had my AK apart, ready for the grip screw. However, the grip screw wont tighten all the way, at some poing the bushing and screw threads don't like each other. On top of that, when I first got the bushing, only the first half of it was threaded. Although I could probably shoot it, my gut is telling me to leave it be for now, so oh well.

That is unusual...You have luck like me...ALL bad most of the time !
I would try to run the bolt into the bushing outside the gun...It should be a metric thread and they usually screw in by hand. Tapco will replace it, if it is defective !

Well, I finally got my stock screws in this morning, so tonight I'll see what I can figure out. I have to say though, I ordered both a Soviet and Chinese stock screw, THERE THE SAME THING!!! Oh well, I did place a good size order with Cheaper than dirt today. Got two of the German rib? back 30 round mags, 2 140 round .308 battle packs, a range bag, 4 G3 mags, and one of those neat looking chinese AK chest rigs. While I realize there is no way it will fit me, for $9, why not LOL.

JB Weld will hold up. I have used it in some sticky situations. WHen the radiator filler neck broke off on my nova, JB Weld saved my arse.

As much as I hate too, I have a feeling I'll have to order a new grip screw and bushing from Tapco. When I got frustrated I kind of tore up the screw head LOL.
