What kind of AK or even firearm should i get. Anything that you think i would enjoy/like post it(thats under $500). This would be mainly for plinking.

Hey, at the last gun show I saw some Saiga AK's in both .223, 7.62x39, and .308, all were under $320. I think the .223 was like $299, the 7.62x39 was $309, and the .308 was $319. These were all brand new rifles from a dealer.

500, I would say you could start to finance an AR-15 or get a decent AK

Pred, I came so close to getting the .308 last show, but not enough $. Then, I almost sold the AK to get one, but I have so many .39 rounds I decided not to do it. One of these days I will get one though.

Go with the MAK-90...i studied my AKs for 2 months before i decided to buy the MAK. Pred and Future Marine helped me out quite a bit, they are bulky guns...but i like the way it feels when i hold it...plus it looks like no other AK...peolpe ask "What the H3ll is that???" i got mine for $350 off of Gunbroker.com, thats a good place to start looking...then you can spend the rest of the $150 on accessories!!! I almost bought a WASR but decided agianst it, a few more dollars makes a world of difference...you might have to wait to find a good deal like i did, but just keep your eyes open. Its accurate, reliable, tuff as nails, and looks so phuckin cool!!! Take my word, you wont be dissapointed...i hope this helps...keep it (sic) my fellow MAK-MAN's

well7.62 ammo is a bit costly at the moment. .223 is rather cheap for plinking..

just something to keep in mind as well.
