Changing the sight on an AK

I bought an Ak 2 years ago and recently got a new rear sight to put on it. I have been having trouble trying to get the old sight off because the spring that holds the sight in place wont compress enough to get it off. Any ideas?

you need a tool usually. i did on both of mine.
