Red face recoil buffers

do these buffers work? they look very easy to install. it seems sensible to put one on my new wasr 10 that i ordered it was only $10 so i got one ,they are both on the way. also should i put one on my yugo sks? it works great after about 5000 rds. just curious. many thanks

I would highly recommend the use of buffers.

I use some in a mac I like to take out some, and it greatly helps out there as well. I believe BlackJack Buffers has what you need.

SKS's and AK's really dont have much recoil. If you are shooting in automatic i can see where a need may be. On automatic its a lot easier when i shot it with a forward pistol grip and the AMD65.

these rifles were made to withstand much more than what any of us would do to them. by all means get it if you please, but if it were me i would get something else. these weapons are much more rugged than most people think.

I know recoil buffers are popular in ther 1911 and other handguns. As far as an AK or SKS I am sure that they would stop the metal on metal, but that is how those guns were designed and will last a long time.

As someone who has had 10 AK's I can vouch for the buffers:

www.blackjackbuffers.com

ONLY Blackjack buffers....other brands are too hard and can cause jams.

I have a milled Bulgarian AK that I have put 5,000 rds through with no fail to feeds or fail to ejects and the inside of the receiver is as brand new as the day I bought it.

True, they are built to not have one but they are made as a battle rifle to take a beating...and they didn't have to worry, they could always build more.

Why beat your rifle up if not need be?
The harder black buffer I bought from Blackjack still looks practically brand new after 5,000 rds.

You can tell the difference on the cycling after you put the buffer in also....quieter and less felt recoil.

I second the recommendation of a BlackJack buffer.

How much of the felt recoil does this take away? the recoil is part of the fun of shooting the AK doesnt have that much recoil anyway, but since i really like my weapons to last i might consider one now

it takes the edge off but it really quiets the metal on metal impact , it just seems to smooth the whole operation out, i like it.

does it feel like a .22 or something, or does it still have pretty good recoil. i think i should get one. how much was yours, was it a blackjack?

also, how long do AK's last without them? can you replace the damaged parts after they are ruined??

no it definitely feels like an ak ! it just smoothes it out a little. i got the green blackjack buffer and it was $10. i think it was a good thing to install, this gun would probably last for a long time anyway but what the hey? its just a little rubber thingy that goes on at the base of the return spring, its about 1/4 in. thick, and does a good job . i think you will like it . i put 250 rds. thru my new wasr yesterday in about 30 mins. but had to stop because i was afraid i was gonna melt my hand guard, i looked at the guts of the gun afterwords that recoil buffer does its job, not a scratch.
