| I'm completly new to this
First off Hello everyone. I'm pretty new to firearm scene, the most i have is a lever action 30/30. lately though i've had an itch for an AK. Could anyone point me in right direction of what to look for in an ak? i wont use it much, i'll mainly just be getting it to have it, but i do want something good. I would appreciate any input, thank you.

save some money and get a LOW CAP wasr-10 Why only ten rounds? aks get HOT real quick, so while a 30 round mag (for like 75 bucks more) are fun....blasting off more then 10 rounds with any speed will make you want to put it down to cool off...so why spend the extra bucks?

Any price range? Preference of heavy vs lightweight? Plan to install a scope? Accuracy needs? Accessories in mind? Preferred caliber? These all affect which model to go for. You can get AKs in 7.62x39mm, 5.45x39mm, 223, 308, 22lr, 12ga, and more. You can get AKs that shoot MOA, have a rail attachment system, retractable and folding stocks nad the like. You can get them in sporting configuration with a two piece stock and cheekpiece. So what sort of AK would meet your needs?

umm, the weight really isn't a concern for i wont be using the gun that much. don't plan on a scope. i'd like for it to be in the accurate department, but it isn't my biggest concern, i'll be getting a nice bolt action one of these days. basically i guess i want something simple? I've looked closely at the vector arms ak47's. I've noticed that they have one with a milled reciever for $850, and another one for $500. I don't know the advantages of the milled receiver but i'm assuming it's better quality since it cost more. I'm still trying to decide.

If you don't mind high weight, won't be shooting high volumes, and want good accuracy but don't plan to use a scope, the Saiga-308 would be an excellent choice.
