Wasr 10

One of the local dealers has recently gotten in a Wasr 10 for $350. I was thinking it was a pretty good deal but was wondering are there any problems with these. I know there not the best quality and i know some of you are going to say that I should get an Arsenal Ak or a Mak 90. But I just want a cheap gun for messin around with. Are they worth it for $350?

If it has a 30 round mag, thats only about 30 bucks over his cost after shipping...a decent deal. odds are it is a century import. I have owned and sold several...you can drag them through the mud...toss em in a river...hit them against a tree....and they will keep on shooting.
The only thing I don't like is the wood forward grip gets pretty darn hot after you rapid fire 10 or 15 rounds.
They ARE a ton of fun and pretty accurate up to 200 meters or so.
10 billion commies can't be wrong!

I have a WASR-10 and I really like it. Very accurate and very reliable. A MAK-90 is a better gun, but more money. 350 is not a bad deal, and it should come with slant muzzle break, bayonet, 2-30 round mags, cleaning kit, and puch. oh yeah, and brand new. IF it doesn't have all those I would think somethig is up.

If it were me, I'd save up another $100 and get a MAK-90.

yes

I own a wasr-10 and think it is well worth $350 bucks. So far I have had no problems - HOWEVER.

The wasr-10s have a problem with the front sight having a little "cant" to them. Meaning sometimes the front sight is leaning - its not straight up and down on the barrel. The "cant" does not seem to affect accuracy.

The hammer may have a rough spot on it. Sometimes my bolt will get stuck in the rear position and need a little push to help it forward. The rifle needs a stronger recoil spring or some wear on the hammer.

Some of the wasr-10s have had their magazne wells opened up to accept high cap magazines. My rifle can with sharp burrs from the milling process. These burrs had to be removed with a file.

Yeah, I'm starting to wonder about the WASR-10. I might have to pick one up at the next show. If a man was to get a WASR-10, put the Tapco trigger group in it, refinish the wood, and something like a 4x or 6x POSP scope on it, I think it would be a great gun.

Ok, lets see if we can get this going. Do you have the pic uploaded to a hosting site? Like photobucket or anything?

Here, I'll put it up for you. When you go to post a reply, go to advanced and click on insert picture. Then put the address in, which in this case is http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...Picture011.jpg .

Your trying to put in the html tag in arnt you. Use the one above it, the Url address instead. That should fix it. And make sure to click on Insert Image under advance, then just enter the url in the box when it pops up.
