Nice. Now you just need to convert it to a pistol grip/thumbhole setup. 22" barrel?

well i really like this gun! this thing is just (i cant think of a better word) FUN! i only had 40rds. to put thru it. i needed at least a couple hundred. and as soon as i got back in my truck called natchez and ordered a lee anniversary kit with manual and some 308 dies. it should be here thursday. ive never reloaded before so here goes!

i dont know if im gonna change the configuration, i kinda like it as is...but who knows changing my mind is always an option

What do you think about the trigger? I took the plunge and am headed over to my gun dealer here in a minute to do the FFL thing - got a nice wooden stocked .308 WITH a scope and mount for $339. Then $30 shipping(ships with a new riflecase) $30 state sales tax, and $30 dollars FFL transfer fee. Can you believe $30 was the best deal I could find? Everywhere else wanted 35.

Still, it's only about what I'd pay for an average commercial bolt action. Good christmas gift...

Oh it's just a see through receiver cover mount. Not anything horribly reliable, but it's a decent 3-9x Bushnell scope. It was priced lower WITH a scope and mount, and wood furniture, than most of the 308s I've seen popping up recently, so i had to go for it. My dad's been heartbroken for years cause he can't afford an M14/M1a and comparitively speaking, this is an insane deal for something similar. Wish it had a full length stock like the Super VEPR though...

Hee hee hee - no, sorry atx. I ordered from Wild Indian Gun Co in North Carolina. You might be able to find something around though. Jim Pruett's gun shop usually has quite a bit of stuff in it, though his prices aren't always the best. The dealer I went through actually has a Saiga 308 in stock, but it's got the traditional Russkie PSL scope on it and he wanted a lot more for it. I wish I could have found one in stock in the area... at a decent price. Call CDNN investments, they're not too far off and they have a huge inventory year round. They have FN2000 rifles in stock, so they might have a saiga or two.

Just browsin' and figured I'd put this link up for anyone interested, as I check it every so often for new catalogs. Warning, this is not a catalog for dialup connections: Download Newest Catalog!! CDNN
