This was already posted in the AK forum, but I don't think the Military->AK section gets as much traffic as this forum does. This was a really good article about the AK-47, and the genius behind it:

Interesting. I started out in a Wikipedia article about the T-54/55's, and wound up surfing through half a dozen articles on tank armor.
