The first picture was correct. Here are the step by step instructions you need. 1. Make sure the safety and all FCG parts are outside of the receiver. 2. Place the hammer spring on the hammer. Your picture showed it done properly. 3. Place the hammer in the receiver and insert its axis pin all the way. You may need to fiddle a little bit to do this. Yes it must go in all the way, with the groove for the retainer spring exposed. 4. Those two "legs" of the hammer spring? Pry them up and seat them on the walls of the receiver so that they stay out of the way. You will have to criss-cross them. 5. Place the trigger-disconnector-retainer spring assembly in its proper place and send its axis pin through. The long end of the spring should rest against the hammer's axis pin. It may take some fiddling to get the spring into the notch of the trigger's axis pin. 6. If it hasn't popped in there on its own, move the long end of the retainer spring into the groove on the hammer axis pin. If this spring has any difficulty fitting in either groove, make sure the axis pins are in there all the way. 7. Move the "legs" of the hammer spring off the receiver walls and onto the trigger. Now you can reinstall the safety.

That rifle is not ruined. At the very worst case scenario you could send it to somebody who can help you out if there is nobody in your area. I thought I screwed up a bunch of guns in the past and they all turned out very well.

Billy, Did you lift the spring off the slot in the hammer pin that retains it ??? other wise it is locked in place.

our local sherriff is a saiga nut and has offered to do something with it. yay the men in blue come to the rescue! he has done this before. i'll buy him a case of beer or something instead of just descriptions i needed photographs of each step . and it had to be the exact weapon in the correct caliber. that great looking step by step how to tricked me into thinking that it would be easy. but there are key differences like the hammer needs to be modded. but no photos of where different springs but no photos. tying the spring back was a good trick.that really did help. sorry for all the depressing posts... but good gravy what an ordeal! i have learned something out of this. 1 gunsmiths are worth their weight in gold. 2 next time i want something in a certain configuration. i am going to purchase it . no home mods for ol billy! no siree! with the time i have invested in this at the wages i earn . i could have bought a new p-grip saiga .308 thats why i work .so i can afford to pay a professional to do the job. im going to stick to easy things . like changing stocks.....

| spiritual counselor ![]() ![]() | me too! i took it out yesterday. that t-6 buttstock needs a pad in a bad way! those nonskid teeth will tear you up with just a t shirt on. the new trigger is quite light compared to the stock one. it groups just like it always has 1 1/2 -2 moa which is great for what it is. thats 1/2 of what my wasr-10 will do. i do however need a higher cheek rest.
