AK 47 Romainian worth.

This afternoon I payed a visit to a friends Pawn and Gun store. While I was looking around I found a
Romainian AK-47 that had been pawned and the person that pawned it didn't come back so they had just put it out this morning to sell.
It looked like it was bought new and it had very very little wear on it.
It was priced at $279.00.
After checking it out I moved on to look at an SKS the same person had lost.
As I was headed out the door I met another frind comeing into the store so we talked a while and then I said come look at this AK 47 they've got and when he saw it he said I'm buying that and then I said hold on let me see what we can get it for.
I asked if they would take $250.00 dollars and they said sold, so the friend bought it.

My question is did I let a good AK get away ?
Was that a good price $250 dollars.
Thank you A.H

Is it a hi-cap? If so, not too bad of a deal if its in good shape...

What you mean High/Low capasity ???...They had to give the friend a magazine because the guy that Hocked it kept the magazine that was in it.
So the shop owner gave him a 30 round magazine...I noticed a kid working there was haveing a hard time putting the magazine in the AK, I left and don't know that he got it in.
It was a Romainian...thanks A.H

If it was a high cap then it was a good deal. If not, it was about the right price. I am not a big fan of the WASR Romanian AK's, but some people love em. If it were a high cap, I may have bought it as an investment, but not to shoot. Don't beat yourself up, you didn't miss much. The SKS would have out shot the WASR - all things being equal.

The least expensive I've seen them advertised for is around $325.00 new. Most places sell them for around $425 to $450 retail. These are for High Cap models. But I have to say I've never ever even seen a single stack model. One other thing related to WASR 10's. I am not sure but there appears to be either more than one location in Romenia where they are made, or there are different "Kit builds" out there because differnt models do have different types of wood furniture. One type has a lighter "blonde" wood furniture with a simi-gloss finnish. The others I've seen have a more rough finnish with a much darker stain, and no topcoat finnish, however both variants seam to have the same markings on the reciver.
