Mak 90 compliance parts?

Hi, I have a Mak 90 Sporter and I'm ready to add a new stock and handguard. I'll probably order the K-Var trigger system too. Anyone know how many US compliance parts I will need total? I heard 10 is what is needed for AKs, but I thought I red somewhere less is needed on the Norinco MAK 90. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I live in Illinois.

thanks

You must have at least 6 US made parts put on your MAK 90 to be 922r compliant.

A US made stock is - 1
A US made handguard set is - 1
A US made pistol grip is - 1
Your K-var trigger group is - 3
That totals 6, so your good to go!

I thought it was only 5 with out a muzzle device and 6 with one. The 6th being a U.S. made slant break or flash hider.

I did the same thing you did, only used a Romanian side folder instead. So my parts were a Tapco G2 FCG(don't order the K Var one. I've heard it's junk compared to the Tapco). I used a US made pistol grip, and I installed US made magazine followers in all my mags.

Really?! I didn't know mags counted for the parts... but it does make sense, since the gun isn't techinically operational without them. Would be interesting to try and load 'em one at a time, though. *chuckle*

Since your Mak90 is already Compliant, as long as you add U.S. Made parts ONLY, from 1 to however many, your Rifle will be compliant with section 922 laws.
You cannot add Foreign or Import parts...

Right, Rich?

True, but better to add just U.S.Parts , then there is no question if you ever got inspected...

Yup, and likely better quality/new parts rather than unknown-quality/used foreign parts. You just have to know what you're looking for and what's good and what's not... which is what this forum is for.

Cool

Soup Bowl was the original compliance folks, floor plates and followers make two parts.
Now American made mags are available, three parts! # 18,19,&20.

There seems to be a "special" reg on changing the thumb-hole shock over to any other useing a pistol grip, kinda like some special regs on the SKS,I think we Bush senior to thank for that.

Just finished my MAK-90 tonight. Added the FCG and new stock. I also have two American made magazines just in case. It sure looks a lot better with the new stock. I used a green Nato length stock from K-Var. A lot of work to get it on (filing), but it looks great.

Right,a lot of filing as the stamped receiver on the Mac90 is thicker than most others.
As I understand the fireing pin is also different, use one for a forged gun,
