UltiMAK AK Scout Mount M2-B for MAK90

Anyone using this mount on their MAK90?
Please share your experience and opinions.

Thanks.

Hey Rex,

I put one of these on my AMD-65 and it is rock solid. I am *very* pleased.
It takes virtually no time to install since it replaces the original gas tube.

If you take your time torquing down the screws you should have no problems with shifting. I didn't put loctite on the screws and have had no issues with any movement even after several trips to the range and back.

The only negative I can think of is if you are hyper-anal about cleaning your rifle it does make reaching the gas port a bit difficult since they aren't meant to be taken off once installed. Overall, though, a great value and a lot of fun.

Excellent!

One more question:

Will my MAK90 remain legal if this is the only part I change?

Don't quote me on this, as I don't have my compliance list handy, but I do not believe that the gas tube is a compliance part, therefore you should be able to change it with no effect on the legality of your rifle. It should remain a compliant US build regardless.

Huh?!

Why would you design a gas tube to not be removed??

I'm considering this one by UTG for my AES-10. Simply because an all-aluminum one will dissipate heat much better than a wood one.

If it has set screws, you should be fine for the most part so long as you have an abrasive in the threads.
