FSB and muzzle work. Difficult?

I am considering attaching the muzzle brake or flash hider on my Saiga 308. I am a bit aprehensive about the FSB removal part and reattaching one post back and drilling for the new pin. My question is how difficult and what should I have tool-wise to complete the task the right way. I found the conversion to PG to be easier than the way I had feared it would be and I am ready to get another saiga and do it all over again. But back to the muzzle work, is a brake even beneficial on a 308 or is it just for looks? I understand the concept and how it works I am just wondering about it's effectiveness on the 308.

Scale one to five for muzzle work and FSB re-fitting for someone below novice ability (that would be me)

1 Easy go for it.
2. Not bad for someone with mediocre abilities.
3. You may need some assistance.
4. Are you sure you want to do this?
5. Are you freaking crazy? Don't even think about it.

I say a 3, with the correct tools. A brake, when correctly designed, works for any caliber.
