| WASR10 originally single stack Yes, the Romanian WASR10s were originally single stack. Century Arms International (importer and rebuilder) reams out the mag well to double stack size, and installs little plates of metal inside to make the double stack mags fit without wobbling themselves out of the mag well. The fit and finish on the WASR10s is also not quite up to the standards of the other AKs. The front sight and the gas tube are said to have been installed slightly at a cant, in some guns. You're supposed to look out for that when buying one. Having said all that, some people have them, and love them to death. The G2 trigger installed by CAI is supposed to be quite fine. The other good point about the WASR10 is that it has all the requisite 922r USA parts installed, so you don't have to worry over the BATFE taking away your AK (and charging you with a felony) if they find you shooting it with a large magazine. | I figure any AK weapon that will fire everytime when the trigger is pulled without a malfunction is the best.beyond that the pre-ban chicom and any of the polish weapons are the best, polish being the highest quality.JMHO

| Hey man is your stock on your M70 a little loose and slightly on a downward angle when extended. I have the exact same weapon and over time my stock has loosened up a little. Just wondering if the same thing happened with yours.. |

| to take the slop out of underfolders.push the button that releases the folder, keep it pushed open and on the other side you will see a large round washer like piece with holes in it.take a nail or something that will fit in one of the holes in it and rotate it till tight.that will take up the slop out.

| Senior Member | The verry best is the Isrealy made galeil. For AK's it doesnt get any better how ever they start at 1500. For under 800 I believe Arsenal cant be beat, under that I would say Yugo, Romanian, then everything else. |

![]() Anyways.... Milled or stamped receiver, '74-style or slant-type brake, side-rail mount or no; forget the Norinco, WASR, Maadi, Vector, etc, etc. Track down and invest in an SA-M107FR. I've seen & fired a lot of AKs & AK clones during my military career, and Arsenal has by far the best manufactured, fitted, and finished milled-receiver AKs. The only thing that compares with an Arsenal AK is the Israeli Galil. ![]() They're a little pricey compared to the Baltic AKs, but you get what you pay for. Personally, I've heard of far too many canted front-sight posts and other problems with Vectors, WASRs, and the like to risk buying one. Even if it's only in the $400+ range. To have a SHTF carbine that will simply go "boom" when the trigger is pulled, is asking for too little and risking far too much. My SHTF firearms had better not just be reliable; they'd better be accurate too, and not liable to have a folding-stock work loose at the worst moment. Murphy's Law and all that jazz. | |
