I just got this yugo m70 online today with 2 mags I paid $346 shipped
It look real clean and sounds like a great deal to me but suposidly it has two minor problems that i did not know about before i bought it, and I was wondering if any of you guys can tell me if this is a big deal or if i can fix them easily.I have not seen the gun in person yet so bear with me, this is what the guy had to say about the problems; "This rifle has two minor problems. The front sight must be drifted pretty far to the right to zero the rifle and there is a little bit of looseness in the way the magazines fit. Occasionally the rifle will fail to chamber the next round after it is fired. Other than that it is a great rifle. " here are the pics of the actual gun. ![]() ![]() ![]() thanks for the help guys |

Sounds like the front sight might be canted, which is fixable and the other problem it has, it just might be in need of a good cleaning; would be the first thing to try anyhow, especially the gas system, piston. etc.etc. As for the magazine wobble, it may have been made to take only single stack mags and the previous owner or someone else tried to make it except double stacks buy dremeling the mag well. You'll have to wait until you get it to know for sure on any of the problems. Also, some mags fit better than others. Likely it was opened up to except dbl. stacks and was opened too much? Again, know more once you see it...
Here's a link to fix the sight, if you're mechanically inclined and have the correct tools. I know, it's not a Romanian WASR-10 but the sights the same and the fix is the same... Romanian Kalashnikov Rifles

^That's what I heard as well, but from looking at it you can tell it's Yugo. Grenade launcher sight and the receiver finish is too good to be Romanian.

It isn't a Romaninan WASR-10. He said it's a Yugo M70. I gave him the link to a WASR-10 site so if he does have a canted sight and or lose sight FSB, he can see how easy it is to fix. They are basically the same FSB's.
And since it has or had a grenade launcher site on it, do those, like the Yugo SKs's have the gas valve switch? If so, that could be the cause of the not chambering the next round as it is in grenade or single shot mode? I'm unfamiliar with the M70s so I'm just throwing these things out there for you to check.

I have a Yugo M70 from Century and I love it
! You definitely got a good deal on the price - mine was over $100 more ![]() I also have a thought about the next round chambering problem. Could it be that the hole in the barrel where the gas is vented through the gas block might be getting dirty? I know there's some sort of pointy wire tool that's made to clean this out. It's an easy place to get to once you remove the gas tube and might just solve the problem ![]()

Like I suggested, give it a thorough cleaning maybe when you get it? At the worst, take it to a competent and reliable gunsmith for inspection. I might do that if it were me anyways. Last thing I need is something going off in my hands or face because someone wasn't completely honest with me ya' know???

this is what they called canted which is normal for these, as for the mag problem this is normal as well, they were disigned to take single stack mags and they alter them to take the standard high cap ak mags, dont let that part bother ya, they still work find

The M70 from the original post should not have a canted sight (as this is not a reported "normalcy") and, as you can clearly see in the pictures, the receiver has dimples on the sides of the magazine well to stabilize the Double-Stack magazines that it was originally designed to take.

After researching various AK articles over my last few days off Id have to side with just a car.But I have had problems with my Chinese 91 feeding Wolff HP ammo. It appeared the flat point of these rounds got hung up on feed just below the barrel. I dont know if it is the clips I used as I only brought with 2 clips I had purchased at a gun show and were different fitting from my drum clip and factory 10 rounder. Ive also heard composite clips tend to fit better as well. Ive also seen AK's with pin blocks in the FSB assembly that were not centered with the FSB yet the FSB seemed to be not canted. Good advice on Glockmeister's behalf especially with sighting issues and a smith may have insight into your magazine issue. Im a new AK owner and may be incorrect Im just tring to be helpful with my .02 . Take with a grain of salt. Nice looking Yugo btw
