i wish i had an ak...................but i can't fork over the ungodly huge amount that they are going for now.

I'm really REALLY hoping that this ban will turn into nothing, and all the people who went out and just bought them because they thought they'd be worth a fortune after the ban, turn around and dump them all back on the market and it knocks the prices WAY DOWN back to before levels.

i picked up my AK Saturday for 400, NEW!! Century WASR-10 bayonet has a wierd name written on it. so it was a good grab, and they were selling like crazy!

Looks like a WASR to me. Ive never seen a Saiga with a bayonet lug. It doesnt have the pin on the gas block for the factory forearm (although this can be ground off when converted) And the FSB has the spring pin for muzzle attachment, which the Saiga's dont have. They also dont have the fixture underneath the FSB for the cleaning rod to go through. It doesnt have the magazine dimple that a MAK-90 has. I own a Saiga and a MAK-90

thanks, yep thats just the first stage of cleaning need more. this gun actually has been sitting for the last 10-12 years according to the orginal owner, but as rusty as she may seem the bore is still shiny as hell.

I guess I might as well add mine to the fray. BTW, I tried Promags for my 5.56 but had very poor results. After filing to get the fit right the mags caused multiple jams and even forced the bullet back into the casing on a number of rounds. I'm sticking with Norinco steel mags from now on.
