I took my 7.62 Norinco AKM to the AAC Silencer Shoot last weekend. The weather was rainy and muddy, perfect AK weather. ![]() I fired several mags of plain jane Wolf ammo through my SEI/Fisher M14DC 0.30 Caliber Sound Suppressor. Results: Very accurate (surprisingly accurate) and it reliably cycles 220 gr EBR 7.62 x 39 sub sonic ammo ![]()

That looks sweet. That's gotta a hoot to shoot! So out of curiosity, How quite is the 7.62x39? How quite is it with standard ammo and Sub-sonic ammo? I have had limited experiance with 22 lr ammo with a suppressor. Just wondering how it compared? |

The event was packed and it was hard to hear the difference between ammo types... I hope to shoot a video of me shooting different ammo to demonstrate the difference in a quiet setting. It is a real pussy cat to shoot.

Where do you get that ammo? I was going to try to cook up some 240 gr subsonic ammo when I got into reloading, but if they've got 220 gr, I may have to just save my money. Also, did that suppressor come threaded 14x1 LH or did you have to special order the threading?

Ah, gotcha. The vortex is the one way I didn't want to go with my AES-10a, because I really like the Tabuk/SVD hider I have on there and would rather take the extra time to switch between that and a suppressor. The price on that ammo is a little crazy, though... $2+ per round for a box of 50 or $1.65 per round if you get a case of 500? I have a feeling loading it yourself would likely cut that price by a good amount, if not in half. Admittedly, they're also charging for labor (which you do yourself, handloading) and are trying to make a profit, so it's somewhat understandable. I just can't see paying $114 for 50 rounds of AK ammo, yano?

50 rounds of EBR was something like $85 shipped to my door.

Drop Doug and email or call him about one 50 round box for you to sample.
