What is the difference between the FPK Dragunov and the Romy PSL?
The only difference I can see is a shorter barrel & the color of the stock.

Wouldn't drilling holes take too much of the gas away to affect the cycling of ammo when firing?

They are the same thing, the "paratrooper" is just a FPK with the barrel shortened. Norinco did the same thing with some of their SKS rifles.

FPK Dragunov and PSL 54C are what the importers mark their individual rifles, same thing different name.

NO! It Helps With Accuracy Very Effectively And The Cycling Is Just Perfectly Tuned..These Rifles Are AMAZING! And The "Paratrooper" Was Just A Regular Century Arms PSL-54c We Just Shortened It..The Color On All Of Our Toys Was Done By Me!

RS, how about posting a "how-to" on that gas tube modification, for those who want to learn how to do it? Photos before, during and after would be great if you have them. So would before and after range reports, so we can see how much of an improvement that mod gives a rifle.

One question. Does the gas tube mod interfere with the functionality of the AK-type action in the field? Can you still get the rifle filthy dirty and expect it to work first time, every time?

Great looking toys. On a less technical note, that AK stock looks really great. I have a brand new in the box Romanian AK47 and the stock has machine marks all under the thick coat of ComBlock shellac. I would like to keep the wood or get a better wood replacement stock because that is what I encountered in Iraq and to me wood is indicative to the AK47.

RomanianSniper, that was very generous and kind of you to offer. A partner that I go shooting with already wanted to have a go at the stock sometime. However, I will have him take a look at your pics first and see if he can come close to your fine work. Thanks too for your kind words for service personnel. I'm no longer active duty and I temporarily left DoD to go back to school, but I share your appreciation toward military personnel. I live in a whole community of them and their families and they really appreciate the support they get from people like you.
