gas piston

so now im thinkin of if i want to tackle replaceing the gas piston with a tapco usa made one........ i have the piston already......

have any of you done this?

how difficult is it?

anything i need to know before is start?

The OEM one is attached with dimples. Take the length from the bolt carrier to the end of the piston. Write that down. Drill out the dimples. Unscrew old piston. Screw in new piston (usa made), adjust it to be the same length as the old one. (drill all the way though the threads using the old dimple hole. Install a rivet and grind it flat to match the profile of the bolt carrier.

lol, after all the trouble i had with the trigger (which is really and easy job when thing cooperate) im thinkin your right. but i need one more complience peice.

well im accualy good right now... but i had to put on a us made stock i had laying around. and frankly i just dont like it and want to put back my romanian one. so i need one more part to do that.

well i have no muzzle device at all, so to my understanding that counts as one.......

also have tapco trigger set in... thats 3

usa tapco pistol grip

and usa made plastic folding stock that i hate and want to replace with my romanian wire folder.

so thats 6 but i want to replace one.

If you replace your US folding stock with a Romanian (non US) folder you will be down one US part.
