In my experience owning 7 AK variants, 4 of which were "47" variants, most of the military steel mags seemed to all be the same. Some were ill-fitting but I think its mainly luck of the draw. I just make sure any steel mags I get have the spine along the backside for support. $8 for a Korean mag seems like a decent price to me.

I have 2 Korean mags and they function perfectly. They're also parkerized rather than blued if that makes a difference to you. I've been playing with the idea of buying a few more of them, but money is very tight right now and I suppose I have enough mags already............
so... ive owned several ak74 but never owned a 47. now that im ordering one im thinkin about the mags ans such...........
are there any mags i should just avoid? any countrys have a bad rep? please be spasific.
i see south korian mags for like $7.99, thats really really cheap, are they any good?
My absolute favorite AK-47 magazines are the Bulgarian circle "10" waffle pattern polymer magazines. They are polymer but have steel lugs and a steel frame so they are rock solid.
They are more expensive than steel magazines but I feel that they fit and feel better. Though most WASR's have trouble with these and require some slight grinding to the mag well to cut it into spec.

SB, I have a stack of about 6 of those Korean parkerized mags that I've actually run through my AES-10a.
The sheet metal they used seems to be slightly thinner than your average steel com-bloc magazine, but they still feel pretty solid and just weigh a little less. What's interesting is that the ones that I got have... get this... plastic-coated springs! And it's a nice slick plastic that I imagine allows it to stick/catch less (not that I've ever had that problem with any other mags).
For the price, these are great, even if you just use them as "range mags" and go to your com-bloc mags in case of emergency.

check out cdnn investments. You can get very good mags there for much less than they cost a few months ago. I am a big fan of the heavier and usually slimey Chinese mags. They make the best drum mags out there. Also, the bulgarian polymer with the metal linings are good. I dislike Tapco mags. If you get them, you will need to likely file them to fit your gun. I have never had one that fit correctly straight out of the packaging.
I have two mags that came with my WASR-10. Don't know if they're actually Romanian, but they work perfectly. If they followed the specs in making the mag, it will work.
i've tried a bunch of different mags for the 47 and so far my fav is the master molder polymer mag.
I'm currently trying to replace all my mags for them.
I have a couple of the circle 10 waffle mags and they are ok but the bottom plate pops out if you drop them.
master molder mags are the best for the money.

What circle 10 mags are you using that are having the floor plates drop out of them? Not saying your lying but perhaps the mags you were using were not a fair representation or maybe someone put some cheap US floor plates on them.
Video time!
Circle 10 mag drop test, a bit long but a good test between the different polymer magazines that are out there.
