Yeah. I've seen their ads in some gun magazines and their product at gun shows. "World's Premier Anti-Terrorist Rounds"? I mean, come on. How often do I need to shoot a terrorist? Once a month, maybe? What if you need to shoot a rapist who just happens to NOT be a terrorist? Well an anti-terrorist round isn't going to help you there buddy! Let me tell you: EXTREME! ammo is just a gateway to other EXTREME! things, such as skateboarding and drinking Mountain Dew and calling people "dude". Just say "no".

Wow. The text on that website reminds me of a diet pill infomercial. A "wound channel of catastrophic proportions"? C'mon, they aren't wide-beam death rays. At any rate, until reports of actual human shootings with these things come in, I'll load regular JHPs and Glasers. Don't bet your life on the hype--stick to what has been proven to work.

Yep, they kill the goblin even deader than before!

I keep Glasers in my Colt .45 auto while in the 'hood' - don't wanna be busting thru walls four doors down in the event . . .

The shotgun is loaded with No.4 Buck - nasty up close.
Don't get much more "extreme" than that.

Doncha love the Advertising guys . . . uh . . . "dudes"? A few years back, everything was "turbo-charged!", shoes, bicycles, things that had no connection with an engine.
I always loved "New and Improved!" - how can it be improved if it's a new thing?

Hey guys. Seriously, when I have seen them they were insanely overpriced: several dollars per handgun round. They just seem to gimmicky for me to trust something as serious as ammo. Again, I have never used any.

And yeah, I remember PCs with "turbo" buttons. Would anyone ever want to turn it off?

They look wicked as hell but if i can't drop an attacker with a couple .40 jhp's to the head/chest i'm royally screwed anyway you look at it. I don't care what the hollow points look like, as long as they expand upon entry its going to do enough damage in my book. These rounds are an overpriced gimmick(sp)

Yeah I've seen the ads, got a couple of dudes in black executing some "extreme covert black ops recon/raid misson". All this "spec ops" stuff is getting a little lame, but some of the local cops (the ones approx same age as me) just eat this swill up. Occasionally you'll see one with black BDU's, 5 different knives strapped to various body parts, and either a pistol caliber carbine or shotgun. But of course these are festooned with an array of scopes, lasers, lights, red dots, ammo carriers, 500 different picatinny rails, GPS units, sattilite uplinks, cameras, grenade launchers, extension cords, night vision, infared, thermal tracking, blah, blah, blah.....

Thrawn, they gotta be ready for anything when facing off against a streetkid in the 'hood flashing his pot-metal 'Roscoe'.

Yep, it's all about being 'tactical' these days. They have taken to the military spec-ops idea of "overwhelming firepower". It seems really over the top in many situations. The days of one good cop defusing the situation is over - now they just call in the SWAT team.

I'm not flaming the good cops - but some SOP decisions made at the higher levels haven't been good.

Extreme price shock

OK LD. I went to the gun show today and checked out the Extreme Shock ammo for sale. .40 S&W = 14.95!

Oh yeah, all handgun loads come in FIVE round blister packs. So that's about $3/round. Why five rounds at a time? Maybe they figure that "no honest man needs more than" that. Why my .357 has six chambers is anyone's guess.

You can buy boxes of their ammo. It comes in a standard 50/round brick, just like everybody else's does. Except that there are only TWENTY-FIVE rounds in the box. Half the box is packed with a cardboard spacer. They could put it in a smaller package (like Hydra-Shok's 20/round box), but don't.

I call shenanigans.
