I read the speal on Browning's site, and though I tend not to be a fan of non-military 8mms, This seems like a good development. Apparently it's able to launch the same weight of bullets at higher velocities than its 30 caliber counterpart and heavier bullets more efficiently, getting more energy for your buck (no pun intended) than the 300 Win Mag. Good old physics of greater cross sectional area and lower throttling from an overbored case. Anyone else looking at this? I'm mainly impressed by the greater bullet weights than I thought were available for 8mm, like 220gr. I wonder how these would do loaded into an 8mm Mauser.

8mm's have always been kind of caught between a rock and a hard spot. The 30 calibers and the 338's. Really not much there that a 338 can do.
