What type of new coating does Wolf have on their cases Mooseman? Anything would be an improvement on that nasty laquer.

It is some new polymer coating...almost looks like a micro thin Clear plastic, and slippery to the touch! Seems hard to even tell it is there!

The only time I used Wolf ammo was in .45 ACP. My trusty S&W 4506, which eats anything I put into it continued to jam with the Wolf. I will know not to feed it Wolf in the future. I don't know about other calibers.

I use a lot of Wolf ammo here and have never had a problem...They have a 100% guarantee on ammo performance and they will refund your money if you return the unused portion to them ! How many companies do that ???

I have used wolf ammo in a number of different calibers and have never had a problem with the ammo.

Wolf is good ammo, in fact I like it a lot better than surplus.

I've been popping Wolf in my SKS's for years, and only until recently, I have been getting 1 missfire per box and a occasional jam. I will continue buying wolf for my SKS's but have also started shooting Winchester brass through them for reloading purposes. I haven't tried Wolf's .45acp, but have been tempted to.

Hmm. I would be worried that there was an issue with the gun. What other brands have you tried in your SKS? Were the results the same/better/worse?

I use the Wolf hollow point. I don't like the soft tip very much I find it is more likely to jam. Never had a problem with the hollow point.

Before I sold it, I ran thousands of rounds of Wolf fmj, hp, and soft point ammo through my SKS. I never had a single malfunction at all-and the accuracy was fine. The only issue that I ever had was the fact that it shoots dirty-just like nearly all Russian ammo. I would lean toward a gun prob.-try stripping the bolt and checking the firing pin movement and protrusion. You may also have a weak hammer spring. Wolf is nothing more than rebranded non-corrosive Russian military ammo and, as such, uses the harder military primers. I would personally suspect hardened cosmoline slowing or limiting forward movement of the firing pin.

I have been shooting wolf ammo for years and I have never had a problem with the ammo, anytime the rifle has failed to go boom it has been because of the mag. I think your problem must be with the rifle, try another type of ammo in it and I bet it would behave the same way.

I just got back from the armory where i bought some55 grain WOLF Performance Ammunition. 5.56mm M193 Ball. Brass casings, I never cared for the steel casing wolf used for years, I heard about how good the new brass casing wolf ammo was at my local rifle range and decided to try some out, Hopefully I'll shoot it this weekend and can give a report here how well it performed. I'm going to be using my Bushmaster M17S.

Ok...Just like everyone else I have been shooting Wolf out of my SKS for years. I recently bought Wolf .45 ammo and did not like it. It dirtied the heck out of my glock and smelled like sulfur and cat urine when I was shooting it. I've never seen my handgun so dirty after a day of shooting. I am never using Wolf .45 again unless I buy a piece of junk .45, Needless to say I would never put that ammo in my Colt 1911. But on the other hand the 7.62x39 ammo is good but just don't forget to clean your gun REALLY good!

A guy at my local sportsmens shop said "you dont want to shoot Wolf through your AR-15, he said it would ruin your gun" so I dont buy Wolf. I just get the good ole "american brass" ammo.

Wolf is good ammo for certain guns. It is not good for AR's because it is steel cased ammo, and I have heard that it is very rough on the AR's extractor.
For Com Block weapons it is great, but for alot of american guns I have heard to avoid it.
