| Senior Member | .22-250 Remington So next summer I'lkl have a Remington 700 VS in .22-250. Going to use it for blowing up coyotes, badgers, bobcats, BIG jackrabbits, etc. 45gr hollow points... yes or no? |

| Senior Member ![]() | Best proformance in mine is the 50 gr. V-max, and the 55 gr. Sierra BTHP. I have had some success with the 40 gr. Balistic tips but they are not consistant. My powder of choice is H-414(H-380 W/40grs), with Win WLR primers.

| Senior Member | The only handload experience I have for the .22-250 is Hodgdon 380 powder and 55 grain blullets from V-Max, Sierra, and Speer. My Savage seems to like the V-Max best so far. The next recipes will be with a slightly lighter bullet. But, even with stock commercial ammo the .22-250 is an awesome varmint gun. The Winchester white box ammo that claims, on the box, to be 4000 FPS velocity is right on the money. It chronoed out averaging 4004 FPS out of my rifle. At that speed anything the bullet comes into contact with liquifies.
